The Futurist Art of Mike Hinge Set Signed & Limited

The Futurist Art of Mike Hinge presents a wide variety of artwork by Mike Hinge, who was a prolific artist and designer whose works became synonymous with the fanciful and optimistic projections of our future life on Earth and in space. Many of the featured pieces were taken from the artist's own photographic archives and have never before been published. As for his published works, this book presents, for the first time anywhere, Hinge's entire published output for such classic SF magazines as Algol, Starship, Heavy Metal, Analog, Amazing Science Fiction Stories, and Fantastic Science Fiction & Fantasy Stories. Many of these masterpieces of retro futurism are scanned from the original art.

Finally, a chapter of biographical material from Hinge himself is included, as well as remembrances and anecdotes from the people who fondly remember him, offering insights into the man who created this body of work.

"My art is a balance between mechanical precision and human unpredictability," Hinge once commented.

The entire volume was Edited and assembled by Rodney Schroeter, with Graphic Design by Schroeter along with contributions by legendary comic artist and designer, Jim Steranko, who designed the cover, typography on the front cover and spine; double-page title spread; and the Copyright and Publisher Information page.

Each copy of The Futurist Art of Mike Hinge includes a Certificate of Authenticity, signed by publisher and designer Rodney Schroeter, as well as a host of special add-ons making this a collector's set like no other! Included with each numbered copy are the following:

• A copy of Time: A 1954 Fanzine featuring the art of Hinge.
• A copy of the March 2026 issue of The Plymouth Review Current, featuring an article on the making of the book.

* NOTE: The term "Auction Lot" indicates an item from the Mike Hinge estate, which was purchased at an estate sale by the publisher in 2025. Slides, photos, transparencies, and other items from the Auction formed the basis for the creation of The Futurist Art of Mike Hinge.
