Cryptology #11

In my pantheon of movie monsters, my top three are: Godzilla, the Frankenstein Monster, and The Creature from the Black Lagoon. And now the latest issue of my favorite horror mag, Cryptology, pays tribute to the gill-man with a cover feature and several articles inside! In addition to an overview of the Creature movies trilogy and merchandising, they also profile Millicent Patrick, the talented make-up artist and former Disney animator, who was the actual originator of the Creature's look, whose major contributions were ultimately sidelined by studio politics. Her true legacy creating the Creature was only recently brought to light and confirmed by others who worked on the film, including suit actor Ben Chapman.
