Some of these stories offer some of his finest pen & ink works, with shapely women, nude statues, and lots of implied lust. Fantasy art's most popular painter was also one of the finest comic book illustrators in the pre-code 1950s. This deluxe collection exhibits the skill of a master craftsman but also provides tantalizing glimpses of where the young artist’s career would ultimately take him, into his iconic paintings of Conan, covers for the Warren mags and famous movie posters for Clint Eastwood, among others. Hardcover in slipcase! This was the ONLY trade edition of this book, never produced in softcover.

Also here you’ll find war comics from Heroic Comics; adventure with the Shining Knight from DC’s Adventure Comics; "Squeeze Play," complete with a special introduction, his one and only solo-drawn story for EC. Here's Captain Comet, a rare pre-code SF story with Al Williamson; Judy of the Jungle, a pre-Thunda jungle heroine; and some of his best and most obscure works from the late 1940s, one, two and three page classics.

All the stories have been newly colored, giving them each a fresh quality that highlights rather than obscures the art, as the original coloring often did.

The 18-page introduction offers an overview of Frank's comic book work, from his first in Tally Ho Comics to his rare solo work for the Warren magazines and Witzend. It is beautifully illustrated.

This was an exceptionally nice package for the trade edition of an art book. With the slipcase, it looks very much like one of Vanguard's Deluxe editions which sell for $69.95 or $79.95. This was published at just $49.95, and now we can offer it at this bargain price, thanks to a special purchase we made of Underwood's overstock. It has never appeared in a softcover edition; two deluxe limited editions were done. As I write this, we have both still available online although only one left of the lettered edition, and five of the other.

This book is flat out AMAZING...saw this at Bud Plant's booth at San Diego comic con and asked them to take it out of the showcase and let me look at it, first rate all the way...just knocked me off my feet, great printing, amazing color...but the material is just priceless, I have the three Frazetta art books...but this one takes the cake...I just can't believe the price... This comes with a slipcase and then on the cover is one the greatest sci-fi covers Fritz ever did...I did not think that they could come out with any classic book on Frazetta since the three great art books covered a lot material...I am glad I was wrong...five stars all the way. - Mitchell Mehdy, collector

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0999/0684/7006/files/product_t_e_telsh-telling-stories-frank-frazetta-hardcover.jpg?v=1784472812
https://budsartbooks.com/products/telling-stories-the-comic-art-of-frank-frazetta-hardcover-slipcased
