YANKEE STADIUM: Drama, Glamor and Glory
By Ray Robinson and Christopher Jennison.
From its humble beginnings as a vacant lot in Washington Heights to the home of baseball's greatest dynasty, few sports arenas can boast the claim of hallowed ground quite like Yankee Stadium. This takes a look at the triumphs, tragedies and myth-making events that have taken place there. Packed with rare historic photos and anecdotes from baseball greats like Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio and Reggie Jackson, this is a comprehensive look at the legends and events that made Yankee stadium the greatest ballpark on Earth. As a long-time Yankee fan and former New York resident, I found this book to be insightful, inspiring and poignant. The greats featured in this book are pillars of modern American mythos and this is a satisfying look at the stage on which our greatest triumphs and tragedies were played out. Go Yankees!
