It is rare to have any work by Mark Ryden remain available for very long. I hope this is the exception. His books and portfolios usually go immediately out of print and end up on eBay at crazy prices.
While this includes Ryden's trademark big-eyed babies and little girls, everything here revolves around trees. It's a wild ride and one very much in tune with today's greater interest in how tree protect our planet. Obviously Ryden has always had a nostalgia for the way forests and trees have been promoted in books, magazines and pop culture. Here he's folded his own special paintings into this world of natural beauty and mystery.
It's a lot of fun. Any Ryden fan or fan of the unusual and surreal in art will covet this handsome new hardcover collection.

An amazing overview of Ryden's new works- mystical, cuddly & creepy all at once! Even the segment about the intricate carvings on the picture frames for the exhibition was fascinating. Ryden has definitely level upped his game here- packing the pictures with rich alchemical symbols from the worlds of occult to pop culture. Brilliant!
