Wow! Every so often we discover a genius designer who has been quietly working in the film or animation industry. Unless you look really close at the Spectrum or Expose annuals, you would never have seen their names.
Stephen Martiniere was one such creator and Sparth's work reminds me of both him this is from the same publisher, designstudio in Los Angeles. Sparth also makes me think of the work of the legendary John Berkey and Vincent Di Fate.
Here are gorgeous scenes of the future, of far planets and strange civilizations, full of detail and gorgeous color and captivating detail.
He mixes curves, color, shapes and atmosphere in an almost magical choreography, enticing us on a voyage inspired by his unique imagination. So says Visual Director David Levy. He nails it.
But listen to Paul Lasaine, Visual Effects Art Director of Lord of the Rings But what struck me about his work was simply the beauty of the paintings. Rarely in this business does one find such a brilliant designer, whose work also stands alone as 'Art.
Go to Google and click on Images and then put in Sparth's name. I'll be amazed if you aren't back here ordering this book pronto. It's that good. Wow!
