Eisner revolutionized narrative sequential art with his internationally famous series The Spirit. He launched the b&w weekday feature strip in October 1941, bringing his groundbreaking creation into the big leagues of seven-days- a-week adventure. Although the more restrictive format of the daily newspaper slot limited Eisner's ability to experiment with composition and page layout, this more conventional daily work would prove to be an important step in his ongoing revolution of the comics medium. This volume collects the complete run of the daily Spirit comic strip, and features an introduction by comic historian Tom Spurgeon.
