By Will Eisner. July to December, 1951.
Eisner revolutionized narrative sequential art with his internationally famous series The Spirit. His masterwork continues through its greatest period from July to December, 1951. Collecting such classic stories as "Heat," "The Counterfeit Killer" and "The Man From Mars." With his Spirit stories, Eisner gave us comics that virtually sang, danced, laughed, cried, and flew. During this time period Eisner had taken a step back from this Sunday series and Jules Feiffer did most of the stories and art. Although lacking Eisner's magic touch, these pages are very much a part of The Spirit's history. Introduction by Dale Crain.
