Joyous! Here is what comic strips used to be about, carrying the reader off to an exciting land of romance and adventure, in the finest traditions of the terms. While many people don't realize Prince Valiant is even still appearing in papers, it is and it's so, so much better than under the previous creator, John Cullen Murphy. Shultz, no stranger to comics with his Cadillacs and Dinosaurs work, is now creating tales that take one back to the earliest days of Foster's work, when Val was almost entirely on his own. And Gianni, the master of classic line drawing, is recapturing the scope and majesty of those best Foster pages. Everyone who has seen his original art is amazed at how little is actually carried through to the printed page, as the strip is sandwiched into ever smaller spaces. But here you get the full majesty of extra large panels, detailed backgrounds, everything you want from a story about the noble world of King Arthur and his knights. Don't miss this, almost 200 pages of full color Sunday pages never before collected. And if you are a parent or aunt or uncle, this is a perfect gift for any young reader that may just make them a lifelong fan!
