PANIC ATTACK! Art in the Punk Years
Edited by Mark Sladen and Ariella Yedgar.
The punk explosion of the late '70s sent shockwaves through the international art community. This lavish book, published in conjunction with London's Barbican Art Gallery, showcases the new breed of visual artists inspired by punk's confrontational yet independent spirit. Photographer Robert Mapplethorpe, film-maker Derek Jarman, and performance artists Gilbert & George, are just a few of punk's provocateurs featured here. Includes explicit adult situations and nudity.

Tough stuff from a bygone era! Nice to see a look at punk that isnt just the Sex Pistols & the Clash. I didnt even know punk had seeped into the art world before reading this but now it's plain to see how punks DIY ethos influenced more people than just musicians with silly haircuts. The nudityadult situations in here aren't that bad. It's cool. Check out the No Wave book for more punk junk, too.
