This Russian immigrant was deeply influenced by French Impressionists, using their palette and brush strokes but applying them with a heavier, darker and distinctly Russian flavor. He was also a master sculptor, woodcarver and ceramist. 150 illustrations, 60 color, realistic drawings, vibrant impressionistic paintings and sculpture.
