Oh, boy, what a treat once again. Here are four more complete issues of the fabled 1940s Marvel Comics title. Here's the famous Human Torch-Sub-Mariner battle in issue #9, the first time these two iconic characters met. And here is art by the wonderful Bill Everett, whose Sub-Mariner work is, for me, the highlight of every issue that he worked on. xxHere too are bizarre early heroes like Electro, an early robot-man The Angel by the wonderful artist Paul Gustafson and Ka-zar, the first incarnation of Marvel's long-running jungle man.xxThere even a Jack Kirby cover on #12, as he joined the Marvel stable and would soon create Captain America with partner Joe Simon. xxxEnjoy an interesting new introduction by Roy Thomas, who puts it all into proper perspective. You don't wanna know what these four comics would cost you...hundreds of dollars for copies coverless or beat to hell thousands for any kind of decent copies. A wonderful series I'm so pleased to have on my shelf.
