MAGIC STONES: The Secret World of Ancient Megaliths
By Jan Pohribný.
Stunning and evocative, this is the most wide-ranging photographic record of ancient European stone structures published to date. It is also an inspirational celebration of the beliefs and achievements of ancient civilization.
From the sun drenched temples of Malta and the great tombs and alignments of Brittany, to the labyrinths of icy Finland, this fascinating book explores these stones in their landscape, as part of nature and the magic and mystery that they still hold. Close to 300 beautiful color photographs most full-page and all well documented. An excellent informative collection. Introduction by archaeologist Julian Richards.

Awesome! A fantastic collection of photos and documentation of the ancient sacred stones of old Europe. This includes the inspirational standing stones of ancient times when the sacred and mystery was part of daily life. Whether you are new to the subject and just intrigued or familiar with the stones and some of their cultural significance you will totally enjoy these exquisite photos. Also includes a site map showing symbols for the five basic types of ancient stone monuments--the standing stones the alignment stones the dolmen, cairn, barrow, and passage graves and the labyrinths and ancient villages. Covering Malta and the other Mediterranean Islands to northern Scandinavia, and the English Isles, east to Estonia, Poland and the Czech Rep. Super!
