Publisher Fantagraphics is quietly and at long last collecting all those fabulous strips most of us have only heard of. Several collections have been attempted by various publishers, but finally here is a first class, full color, year-by-year compilation. And it's affordable!
particularly love the introductory bits, with reproductions of rare full color cards Herriman created for special friends, for his goddaughter, for a 1930 issue of Vanity Fair. Lovely, lovely work. And then we get another full year of Sunday Pages, now into the war years, a period never before collected in color in any previous reprint series.
