Thanks to computer printers, most of us now know landscape format...it's when you take your sheet of 8.5x11 paper and print sideways on it. Jim's done that with his new issue...a small thing you might say, but not necessarily. In order to reprint wide retangular shaped illustrations, even the best art books have to run them across the gutter, breaking up the picture, or they must reduce them in size to fit on a page.

With this sideways format, on this issue only, editor Jim Vadeboncoeur been able to nicely present all those awkwardly-sized images in a wonderfully attractive format. It's his first issue like this. As usual here are wonderful images you've probably never seen before. That's because most of them have never been reprinted since they first appeared in now-obscure old magazines and books, all pre-1923 and dating sometimes back to the 19th Century.

Here is the cover painter Briton Reviere, a master of Orientalist art Russell Flint, master of beautiful women here in mythological settings Edmund Dulac, the famous contemporary of Arthur Rackham and also a children's book illustrator Howard Pyle, John Bauer who inspired Gustaf Tenggren and more recently, the fairy tale and troll work of Brian Froud, etc. The list goes on, classic artists and relative unknowns, all carefully selected for their exciting and amazing illustrations. brThe price has gone up to 25, but this is still a rare treat for any art fan. And beware, issues #1-4 or #5 are all now either in short supply from Jim or sold out entirely. Jim will never reprint these. We have a few back issues ourselves, so don't delay and miss these while they're still available at 20 each. Each is limited to just 2,000 copies.
