What a wonderful surprise! The publisher has made a point of never reprinting his out of print issues. so these early gems have become very collectible amongst illustration fans. But here we have the very first issue back in print, of a magazine that has made an incredible name for itself over the last 22 issues. And the features? One of the most beloved illustrators ever, Haddon Sundblom, best known for his gorgeous ads of girls promoting Coca-Cola. The paperback art of James Avati, recently the subject of a book from Don Grant Publishing. Avanti is an artist's artist, who 1950s and 1960s paperback covers established a new high water mark for realism and inspired technique. And we have the art of Jack Faragasso. Not being an arist myself, I didn't know his work until we began handling is how-to-draw book. Little did we know he was a widely know art instructor with a HUGE following, including major fan favorites in the comics world like Dave Stevens and Bill Stout. His book has remained one of our perrenial best sellers. Here's a great introduction to the man and his own artwork.
