Although Walt Disney was the creator of the character and his voice, it was Ub Iwerks who brought the mouse to life. As head animator at Disney Studios, Iwerks shaped the character and led the direction of Disney animation. This intimate portrait of his life and works, co-authored by his granddaughter, gives us insight into a man whom most of us have never heard of, but have known all our lives. Included are 16 pages of outstanding vintage photos of Iwerks at the studio, and 1929 storyboard drawings for Mickey in "Karnival Kid."
