A great collection of film posters from the decade when Hollywood circled the wagons against the assault of juvenile delinquents as the Wild West became the Asphalt Jungle. Films from Italy and France, where the 'New Wave' was starting to break, were considered strictly high culture. Nourmand, who owns London's Reel Poster Gallery, and Marsh, a designer and art director, have compiled a great collection of posters from movies of the 50s. There are seven books in the series, each for their own decade. Recently reissued by Taschen, (through their Evergreen imprint), this title was previously offered by Aurum Press.
