DADA: Zurich, Berlin, Hannover, Cologne, New York, Paris
Edited by Leah Dickerman. Preface by Earl Powell.
Now in softcover!
This lavishly illustrated and astonishingly comprehensive volume stands as the definitive study of the influential but deliberately elusive Dada movement of the early twentieth century.
This features the work of 40 key artists including Louis Aragon, Hans Arp, Hugo Ball, André Brenton, Otto Dix, Marcel Duchamp, Hannah Höch, Man Ray, Tristan Tzara, Kurt Schwitters and others. Well-designed and containing hundreds of reproductions, this also includes biographies of each artist, accompanied by Dada-era photographs. This generously illustrated book accompanied the most comprehensive museum exhibition of Dada (in 2006) art ever mounted in the U.S.

Fantastic, a great collection of the art, hundreds of reproductions, and well written, this book on the art movement that didn't want to be defined and struggled hard not to be, this book is the most informative on the subject that I have ever seen. Inspirational.
