CENTURY GIRL: 100 Years in the Life of Doris Eaton Travis
By Lauren Redniss. Last Living Star of the Ziegfeld Follies.
An enthralling, fun, new style of biography about one of the most captivating darlings of the 20th century. This is innovative storytelling at its best--it can be read as a graphic narrative or a historical tapestry, or simply relished for its stunning visual effect. Doris Eaton Travis (b. 1904) is a retired Broadway and film performer, dance instructor and author. She is also the last surviving Ziegfeld girl. She began performing onstage as a young child and made her Broadway debut at the age of 13. A year later, in 1918, she joined the Ziegfeld Follies. She performed in stage productions and silent films in the 20s and 30s. A second career as an Arthur Murray dance instructor was very successful. A TV personality, a horse ranch manager, a college student in her 80s, she currently has returned to stage endeavors.

Super cool & weird- every page is a collage of her old photos & memorabilia- making a surreal yet cohesive read. Nice large size format too. Highly recommended!
