The Phantom Lady is for fans of sexy adventure comics the pinnacle of pin-up, glamour and cheesecake. Torchy is the equivalent for fans of humor and suggestive but innocent fun, much like the cartoons in Playboy.
Artist Bill Ward actually created Torchy for army newspapers during World War II, and it ran concurrent with the famous Male Call, starring Miss Lace, by Terry and the Pirates artist Milton Caniff. Included here are six of those very rare daily strips. Plus a two-pager about Ward creating Torchy, drawn by the artist himself. And 22 great short stories of slapstick comedy starring the must curvaceous gal in comics.
