Two volume set: The Blue Book Illustrations of Herbert Morton Stoops: The career of pulp illustrator Herbert Morton Stoops' (1888-1948) is explored. Hundreds of examples of his work for Blue Book magazine (c. 1920-1940) are included, along with story synopses. Illustration in Black, White and Gray by Steven R. Kidd: Steven R. Kidd (1911-1987) was famed for his illustrations for the New York Daily News and the Chicago Tribune, circa 1932-68. A successor to Howard Pyle and Joseph Clement Coll, Kidd's superb illustrations are highly prized by collectors. Includes over 200 examples of his work.
